The Brooklyn Nets have been steadily building a competitive team over the past few years, and they are now considered one of the top teams in the NBA. With star players like Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving leading their roster, it's no surprise that expectations for this team are high.
But it has sometimes been rocky sailing for this franchise. The Nets started as an ABA team in 1967 before joining the NBA in 1976. They struggled to find success early on but had some notable seasons during the Jason Kidd era in the early 2000s.
In recent years, however, things have really turned around for this organization. After moving from New Jersey to Brooklyn in 2012 and undergoing a rebranding effort (including changing their name from "New Jersey Nets" to "Brooklyn Nets"), they began making significant moves towards becoming contenders.
With new ownership under Joseph Tsai and strong leadership from General Manager Sean Marks and Head Coach Steve Nash, there is plenty of reason to believe that these upward trends will continue into future seasons.
